Scubaspa Yin is a 50-metre liveaboard built in 2013 and refitted in 2022 that combines a full dive programme with a proper spa. She takes up to 36 guests in 17 cabins, but never more than 26 divers, so non-diving partners have their own programme rather than waiting on deck. Diving runs from a dedicated dhoni that works as a floating dive centre, which keeps tanks, gear and compressors off the main yacht. Nitrox is available and the boat supports sidemount. A team of spa therapists works on board, and guests can choose a spa package instead of the diving package. Cabins range from Sea Star cabins on the lower deck to Dolphin and Manta suites on the main deck, most with queen beds; there's also a Cowrie suite that sleeps three. Gym equipment, a yoga and wellness deck, kayaks and paddleboards fill the rest of the day, and island visits and a beach barbecue dinner are part of the trip. The diving follows the Maldives pattern: channel drifts with reef sharks and eagle rays, manta cleaning stations, and the chance of whale sharks in South Ari. The central atolls are diveable all year. Scubaspa Yin suits couples where one person dives and the other doesn't, wellness travellers, and groups booking a private charter.

Scubaspa Yin was a really comfortable introduction to Maldives. Nothing felt rushed once we got into the schedule, the room was genuinely pleasant to come back to and the trip still felt centered around being on the ocean rather than staying inside. I would happily book Best of Maldives again with friends doing their first trip there.
Seven nights is long enough to switch off properly. The problem is by the time you finally reach maximum relaxation, somebody tells you to pack.
After few days the boat starts feeling strangely normal. You know where everyone sits, who always gets coffee first and which person is definitely going to be late to breakfast.
The Manta Suite looked amazing, although we chose a smaller room. Didn't regret it because most of our time was outside anyway.
