Princess Sara is a 40-metre liveaboard built in 2018, with 10 en-suite cabins for 24 guests. The layout gives you real choice: standard twins and deluxe cabins on the lower deck (the deluxe ones add a single bed that works for a child), junior suites on the lower and main decks, and two master suites on the upper deck with double beds. All cabins have hot showers, air conditioning and toiletries. Off the dive deck there's a fully equipped dive centre with rental gear, and nitrox for certified divers. Between dives you'll find an indoor lounge, a bar and dining area, a sun deck with a Jacuzzi, and plenty to do in the water: paddleboards, kayaks, wakeboarding and jet skis. The boat also takes snorkellers seriously. A snorkelling guide, snorkel gear, fishing trips, island visits and a beach barbecue are part of the trip, which makes Princess Sara a good choice when not everyone in the group dives. Maldives diving is built around channels and currents. On a typical week you'll drift through channel mouths with grey reef sharks and eagle rays, visit manta cleaning stations, and hope for whale sharks in South Ari. Advanced Open Water and some experience with currents will help you get the most out of it. It suits families, mixed groups of divers and non-divers, and couples who want a comfortable suite.

What I liked most was that Princess Sara didn't feel too serious. Safety and briefings were handled professionally, but the rest of the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. We could complete three dives, come back to a comfortable cabin, sit outside for dinner and still feel as though we were on vacation.
Friendly boat and a surprisingly social group. I came home with more WhatsApp contacts than underwater photos.
The crew arranged the beach evening beautifully. Yes, other boats were using the area too, but once dinner started nobody really cared.
Princess Sara is a good option when one person dives more than the other. My partner skipped a few dives, used the paddleboard and enjoyed the boat without feeling like the only activity was scuba.
