Komodo National Park lies between Sumbawa and Flores in Indonesia. Strong currents between the islands bring in mantas, sharks and big fish schools. The north is warm and clear, and the south is cooler and full of small creatures. Most trips leave from Labuan Bajo, and many stop on land to see the Komodo dragons.

Komodo is dived all year. The main season is April to November, when the north and centre are calm and clear. From December to March, boats spend more time in the south. Water ranges from about 21°C in the south to 29°C in the north, so a 5 mm wetsuit is a good idea for the south. Mantas are often seen, but never guaranteed.
