Princess Ulua is a 37.3-metre motor yacht built in 2018, with 10 air-conditioned, en-suite cabins for up to 20 guests. Upstairs are three sea-view suites; below decks you'll find the bow master suite, two standard cabins and four family rooms with a double and a single bed. A crew of 15, including three or four dive guides, looks after a small group. It's a very family-friendly boat. Wakeboarding, water-skiing, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear and a snorkelling guide are all part of the trip, along with fishing, island excursions, a beach barbecue and laundry. Jet skis can be rented on board. The top deck has a Jacuzzi, the main deck a bar, and meals are served either in the indoor saloon or at the open-air dining area, with Asian, European and Maldivian dishes. Each cabin gets a Wi-Fi allowance. For divers, nitrox is available and the boat supports sidemount. The Maldives' channels bring grey reef sharks, eagle rays and big schools on the incoming current, and mantas visit cleaning stations along the reef edge. Calm seas and good visibility are most likely between December and April. Princess Ulua suits families with children, groups mixing divers and snorkellers, and anyone booking a private charter on a boat that feels more like a yacht than a dive platform.

Simple, comfortable and easy to enjoy. Not every trip needs a huge list of extra facilities to be good. Sometimes I just want a nice boat, friendly group and seven days where my biggest problem is whether I remembered where I put my sunglasses.
Central Atolls was exactly what we expected from Maldives and that is not a bad thing. We wanted a classic first experience, comfortable boat and a full week away from normal life. Thats what we got. 🌊
I like boats where by the end of the trip everyone knows each other a little. Princess Ulua had that type of atmosphere for us without feeling forced.
Seven nights didn't felt long at all. If anything, the final two days happened way too quickly.
