Grand Discovery is a 45-metre steel liveaboard launched in December 2025, built with diver comfort and stability in mind. She takes up to 36 guests in 18 air-conditioned cabins: twelve twin cabins split between the lower and upper decks, two panorama suites on the upper deck, and four suites on the high deck, all with double beds. Down time is spent in the lounge, at the buffet in the dining area, or on the Skydeck, which has a Jacuzzi and sunbeds. Wi-Fi is included. The dive set-up is serious. A membrane system makes nitrox on board, two zodiacs drop divers at the best entry points, and the boat supports sidemount. Open Water divers are welcome, and scuba courses are available. In the Red Sea, route choice matters more than boat choice. The north is ideal for a first liveaboard, with the reefs of Ras Mohammed and Tiran and wrecks like the Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas. The offshore marine parks of the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone are for experienced divers, usually with Advanced Open Water and around 50 logged dives, and they bring oceanic whitetips from October to December and hammerheads in early summer. Water is around 22°C in winter and 29°C in summer. Grand Discovery suits divers who want a brand-new boat, larger groups and families, and anyone who values stability on longer crossings.

Grand Discovery can cover several of Egypt's established itinerary families, including northern wrecks and reefs, Brothers and Daedalus, and the southern areas around Elphinstone, Zabargad and St. John's. Our own trip was well organised, the boat handled the group comfortably and the team adapted the programme whenever conditions required it.
Great combination of serious diving and comfortable accommodation.
I joined with a large dive club, and the boat suited us well. We could travel together while still dividing into manageable dive groups.
Grand Discovery's size made the longer passages more comfortable. There was still natural movement at sea, but the vessel felt solid and there was plenty of sheltered space.
