Sea Serpent Serena Dreams is a 33-metre (108 ft) wooden liveaboard built in 2007 and refitted in 2020, designed for small groups. With a maximum of 18 guests in nine air-conditioned, en-suite cabins, the dive groups stay small and the boat never feels crowded. Five twin cabins and one double are on the lower deck; the upper deck has two cabins that switch between twin and double, and one more double. Inside there's a cosy saloon, outside a large lounge area, and on top a fly deck with open views that's perfect after the last dive of the day. Nitrox is free for certified divers, Wi-Fi is complimentary, and the boat supports sidemount. The boat takes Open Water divers and can run courses on board. On a Red Sea week, the northern reefs are a good fit for newer divers: Ras Mohammed, the Straits of Tiran and the wrecks of the Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas. Dahab, on the Sinai coast, adds dramatic walls and canyons. More experienced divers can head out to the Brothers islands for oceanic whitetips and hammerheads, which usually requires Advanced Open Water and around 50 logged dives. The Red Sea is diveable all year. Expect around 22°C in winter and 29°C in summer. Serena Dreams suits small groups of friends, dive clubs who want to book the whole boat, and divers who prefer a quiet, personal trip.
