Sea Serpent Contessa is a 34-metre (112 ft) wooden liveaboard built in 2006, with 12 air-conditioned, en-suite cabins for up to 24 guests. Eight twin cabins are on the lower deck; the main deck has two more twins and two double cabins. Her best feature is the upper-deck salon: bright and breezy, with a dining area next to it that has 360-degree views. The dive platform is laid out for easy gear storage and quick water entries. Nitrox and Wi-Fi are free, and the boat supports sidemount. Open Water divers are welcome, and scuba courses can be done on board. The Red Sea rewards both beginners and experienced divers. The northern routes cover the reefs of Ras Mohammed and the Straits of Tiran, plus famous wrecks like the SS Thistlegorm, a WWII cargo ship still loaded with motorbikes and trucks, and the four wrecks at Abu Nuhas. For more adrenaline, the Brothers islands sit in open water, with oceanic whitetips in autumn and hammerheads in early summer. Like the other offshore parks, they usually require Advanced Open Water and around 50 logged dives. Water ranges from about 22°C in winter to 29°C in summer, and visibility is often 20 to 30 metres. Sea Serpent Contessa suits divers and small groups who want classic styling, good value and a crew that knows both the northern wrecks and the offshore reefs.
