Sheltered seagrass bay with resident dugongs and giant green turtles, plus the occasional guitar shark. Beginner-friendly year-round.
Dolphin House (Sha’ab Samadai) Open Water+

Protected marine park, horseshoe reef with a resident spinner dolphin pod. Boat access only — some cave zones need more experience.
Elphinstone Reef Advanced
5–40m recreational range · Strong, unpredictable current
Legendary drift/wall dive off the open sea. Oceanic whitetip and hammerhead sharks, Napoleon wrasse, turtles. AOWD + 30-50 logged dives recommended.
Shaab Marsa Alam Open Water+
10–40m · Moderate current (stronger on the east side)
Long reef with coral gardens and a small wreck. Dolphins pass through regularly, plus turtles and occasional whitetip/grey reef sharks.

The Oasis is ~40km / 25 min from Marsa Alam Airport. Return transfer: €55pp (Marsa Alam) or from €72pp (Hurghada, group-size dependent).

Do I need a certification to dive at The Oasis?
Yes — Open Water Diver (or equivalent) for standard dive packages. Not certified yet? Book the 3-day Open Water Diver course (i.a.c./SSI, recognized by PADI and SSI) instead of a Dive Box, then start diving once certified.
Are dugong sightings at Abu Dabbab guaranteed?
No — dugongs are wild animals grazing seagrass meadows, not a guaranteed encounter. Abu Dabbab is one of the few places worldwide with resident dugongs and green turtles, and sightings are frequent.
Is diving at Elphinstone safe for all divers?
No — Elphinstone has strong, unpredictable currents and open-sea conditions. Most operators require Advanced Open Water certification and 30+ logged dives. An acclimatisation dive is mandatory and built into your first dive regardless of site.
What does a typical dive day look like?
Two guided dives by car or boat at Southern Red Sea sites (morning and afternoon, or a 2-tank dive), plus one free unguided house reef dive. The House Reef Dive Box swaps this for unlimited unguided house reef diving, 5am–8pm, including night dives.
Is Nitrox available?
Yes, free of charge for certified Nitrox divers.
Can I rent equipment, or should I bring my own?
Both options are available — bring your own gear or rent on-site. Contact The Oasis directly for current rental rates, as these aren’t published in our pricing sheets.
How do I get to The Oasis?
Fly into Marsa Alam Airport (RMF), about 40km/25 minutes from the resort — transfer arranged. Hurghada Airport is an alternative, about 270km/3 hours by road.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Tiered by days before arrival: 30+ days flat €50, 29–21 days 25%, 20–14 days 35%, 13–7 days 70%, under 7 days or no-show 100% of booking price (minimum €50 always). A €6 admin fee applies to date/booking changes.
What extra costs should I budget for locally?
Certification fee (€50, courses only), dive site admission fees (€6–17), daily environmental protection fee (€7pp), and lunch/drinks on boat-trip days. Airport transfers and single-room supplements are quoted separately.
Is The Oasis suitable for families with young children?
Not really for very young kids — the resort isn’t set up for under-8s, who are only accepted on request. Ages 3–11 get a 30% room discount; from 12, the adult rate applies.
